We tried to go there for spring break, but apparently there was some really bad flooding last fall and people aren't allowed to hike in until May. I didn't really believe it and I tried to convince the Tribal folks that I was a really good hiker and that I could probably go in April. Besides, at this point it was November, and how could they really predict that flood repairs wouldn't be done until May? Couldn't they light a little fire under the repair workers to get it done early?
I even tried to convince my friends to start dating Native Princesses, I thought maybe that would get us down in April.
The day after I tried to convince the Tribe that they should let me in, I was reading in National Geographic that, well, the flooding was REALLY bad. And that it was legitimatly closed.
How cool. Who are you going with? To tell you the truth I had to google "havasupai" I had no idea what it was. But it looks like really fun waterfalls and hikes. Am I right??? I'm excited for you.
I'm going with Sara, Megan and Brett. We made the reservation for 5 people just in case so if anyone else wants to come. It is a dozen miles or so to hike in but the waterfalls are awesome.
