Halloween Dance Party

Last Friday Carson had her annual dance party full of food music and some pretty sweet costumes. Mine was relativly simple. Wear and 'fro, some athletic cloths and then dance my heart out. By the end of the night I was pretty beat. My vote for best costume goes for Kevin as the Detective. When he walked in it took me a bit to recognize him and he played the part well.

The Last New Roommate

Well at least it should be the last one... possibly, maybe.

Mike moved in last night at about 11 PM. His sister and my old roommate Jeff (the guy that lived here, but didn't) are getting back from their honeymoon today so he figured he should move out of the place they were planning on living.

So far we've gotten along great. We've established that both of us fall asleep really quickly, we're heavy sleepers and even if someone does wake us up it doesn't make us angry. The other thing that makes me think is that when I walked into Sunday school today Mike was already sitting at a desk and I looked at the front table and saw that there was a plate of cookies and I said "I totally picked the right class today" and Mike replied, "That's exactly what I said when I walked in!" It's going to be good times.

Hikus

Will? Question. Mystery.
Will. Firm statement of intent
Will: His will be done

After Sunday School Casey came up to me and said that. Followed by "That's right, I spent the class making a Hiku out of your name. I also have one for Jun."

Crazy Park Things

I figured out how I can post pictures from my cell! Check out these pictures from this park in the middle of a neighborhood in South Jordan that I found while selling aeration last Saturday.

Giving a Talk

Yesterday I got a call from the Ward's Exec. Sec. asking if I would be willing to give the closing prayer in Sacrament Meeting. I immediatly said "Sure" As I said it something popped into my mind and I finnished that sentence with ".... but you might want to know that I'm going to be giving the closing talk."

Yep, I remembered at 12:30 in the afternoon on Saturday and didn't get done working until about 8:45 that night.

Overall the talk went well. Last week when the 2nd councilor called he spent about 2 minutes explaining what he wanted me to talk about, after he was done talking I responded "So you just want me to give my reflections and insights from General Conference." So I did. luckely for me I didn't get too nervous because the girl before had a cool English accent and I was just entertianed listening to her that I totally forgot about me having to speak next. When it came to be my turn I just stood up and talked and it was all good.

New Roommate

I forgot to mention. Tuesday night at about 9PM Jeff Shumway walked in a said he was moving out. He has a friend in Raintree who's roommate moved out so Jeff moved in and we got the kid that was going to move into the apartment. Tucker is the kid in our place. I still have my own room until Saturday when Jeff Stevens gets married and Brother-in-Law, Mike moves into my room.

Monday - Wednesday

I'm currently watching the BYU game at Brent and Amber's and it isn't going as well as I would like so I figured I would take this time to do some updating on the blog.

Crazy happenings down here in Provo.  Monday was full of many things. First off, Sunday night I convinced Eric Danielson to come down and hang out so I was looking forward to him coming down but before I could do anything with him I had a Econ Test to take. I had gone to two review sessions and I was feeling good about the test and I must say that they helped. I got 92%. I'm feeling pretty good about the class right now. I'll find out what the class average was tomorrow. Next Eric came down and we had some good times just doing random things. I did have to go to work for a bit but it was all good. After making a brief appearance at FHE (we helped get some pizza for them) we went to a birthday party for Eric Merrill, a friend from Freshman year.  We finished up the night be watching Forbidden Kingdom, another telling of the Chinese Classic, the Monkey King, which I slept through.

Tuesday rolled around and I had my many classes to go to and work down in Spanish Fork the day just flew by highlighted by the ride home that night.

Wednesday was great. For Econ we watched a Forum that Prof. Pope gave last year on his work in Air Pollution and the external costs of companies. A good speech but I decided that a nap would fit nicely in the middle of it. Swimming went well but it turns out that it's my swimming that's been making me to healthy... The night was finished off with a traditional gathering at the apartment for a classic movie, The Sting. Throw in a little more scooter riding to take Julie home and it was time to call it a night.

Too Healthy

I'm eating a bowl of rice and chili right now because I'm too healthy to give plasma today, my blood pressure is too low.

One Crazy Weekend

I'm not even sure what all happened this weekend. Garan and Jessie were married on Friday. After my 8 AM Econ class I borrowed Brent's car and went to the Bountiful Temple. The Sealing was great, they got the pictures with the friends first so we could take off, and the luncheon was fun. Erik and I went in search of the finishing touch for our wedding present but couldn't find it so we resorted to buying things to decorate their car. I then went to the Bushell's to get my picture taken and it was off the reception. I finished up the night by doing my Physics homework over at Rob McDonald's house while my friends tried to help... it was rather entertaining.

After spending the night at Jeff's house (because Allie, Lee, Jeff and Laura were at our home) I got ready for Grandpa's surprise party before heading down to Provo. The party was a lot of fun. I don't think I've even seen Grandpa so emotional. He truly was surprised. I was great to listen to each his kids tell stories about him and things that they learned from him. It was a wonderful experience.

After the party Allie, Lee, Jeremy and myself headed down to Provo for the game (Dad and John took off as soon as the cake was eaten and half of the pictures were taken). As we went outside to the parking lot of the restaurant it was snowing a very wet snow, which was great to see. Traffic was clear the entire way down to Provo. Even on University Parkway the traffic wasn't any worse than on a normal day, which made it possible for me to be in the stadium 15 min after kickoff. BYU won, it wasn't an amazing win but it was a win none the less. To cap off the evening I went on a date with Julie. I know Julie from working at Jamba Juice. I asked her to one of the Homecoming Dances. We went to Brick Oven Pizza with a group (mainly people I know from High School) and then to the dance. After the dance when I took Julie home she asked if I wanted some hot chocolate so we enjoyed some hot chocolate and then played a game of Doctor Mario on her Nintendo. It was a great night.

Sunday was Elizabeth's blessing so the family was together again. I've never been part of a blessing and it was a neat experience. Brent hadn't asked me to be part of the circle so when the Bishop announced her blessing and asked for Brent and those he invited to come up I had to look at Brent to see if he wanted me. I could see the debate in his mind and I think the only reason he nodded was because Dad was giving him the evil eye. We had fun lunch at Brent and Amber's, it was there that I remembered about a vegetarian potluck that I had been invited too but had nothing to bring. Luckily for me Amber was kind enough to donate some things for me to put together a very nice Vegetarian Chili. After the wildly successful potluck I headed back to Brent and Amber's to return the spices they let me borrow, oh and Brent's car too and was tricked into playing a game... okay so that's a lie, I was looking forward to playing with them. After beating them solidly in a game of Ticket to Ride I headed home on the Scooter and that's how I ended up with his Orange Jacket mentioned in the last post. It was cold and I couldn't feel my hands or ears when I got home but I was happy because it was an awesome weekend.

Next post will recap Mon-Wed of this week which has been awesome as well. The highlights including "My first Econ Test" and "Movie Night at Will's Place". Be sure to check back!

Riding in the Cold

Today I did Aeration in Spanish Fork and I started home at about 8. It was about 46 degrees (according to some bank sign), luckily I came prepared for the ride. I had on my usual khaki pants but I knew they weren't going to be enought so I had packed the yellow pants. I have a nice fleece jacket from my week stint at Camp Bartlett but again I figured might as well layer there too, I had a bright orange jacket that Brent let me borrow Sunday night after I forgot to bring one to his house. I finnished it with two pairs of gloves, black ones covered by some nice blue ones.

Colors Visible to the vehicles around me: Yellow, Orange and Blue

I looked awesome (and was warm too)!
